Hi Friends. Thank you so much for your overwhelming response to my earlier post. I am glad to see so many of you reading my poetry. So here is another one for all you beautiful people.
This poem was written on April 12, 2000. It was actually an early morning during my exams. I was the kinds that studied till late night. And I use to sit in the kitchen and study! The room was too much torture for me to study in. I always imagined my warm bed calling out to me to sleep, like some witches in movies , especially with everybody asleep. So I would take my books to the kitchen and sit in the dining table, open the window next to it and try hard not to fall asleep.
Often I observed how the night grew darker and it was the darkest just before the dawn. It was a beautiful experience watching the darkness turn slowly lighter till it was actually dawn and then finally morning. The sun rise and the sound of the birds chirping. It was blissful. The clouds beyond the horizon and the sun rising, which first looked like someone has spilled some orange paint in the sky. The sight use to be pure miracle for me.
I hope you enjoy reading this one and hope you can feel some bit of how I felt back then. Happy reading 🙂

DAWN
Evening brings a charming peace
And all pain and sorrows are eased.
Beneath the feet flows gently the water cool
Healing all the hurts and soothing all the pains.
The moon rises up in the vast empty sky –
Rises higher still, till it kisses the heaven above.
And the stars smiles through its twinkling light
The world sleeps while the beauty wakes.
She moves swiftly with her graceful feet.
Her silken skin brushing against the darkness of the night.
Her soft feet touching the un-rested earth,
She walks gently, Oh! Gently does she walk!
Pressing all the thorns and flowers beneath her feet.
Un-healing, the wound bleeds, flourishing the earth
With its moist and pure virtue.
Sweetly and gently she procreates darkness into dawn.
